What We Do

Training

Training with athlete survivor voice and trauma-informed expertise

The Assist provides a wide range of training, ranging from established trauma-informed systems of sport to tailored training opportunities that fit different audiences.

Our training content includes:

  • Trauma-informed lens and expertise: We create all training opportunities from a trauma-informed approach that recognizes trauma impacts and actively seeks to mitigate re-traumatization
  • Survivor voice and leadership: We work with athlete survivors and our expert staff to center survivors’ voice, stories, and expertise in all trainings.
  • Tailored and flexible: Our trainings are adjusted to audience needs and created in flexible formats that allow nimble adjustments and skilled facilitation

What stands out to me is The Assist’s commitment to having training reviewed by athlete survivors in a way that is both trauma-informed and allows for authentic storytelling. This makes our training both relevant and relatable across audiences.
