What We Do

The Athlete Survivor Peer Support Network

From Survival to Strength. Together.

The Athlete Survivor Peer Support Network is a trauma-informed, peer-led initiative that builds connection, resilience, and collective power among athlete survivors and their allies.

Once fully funded, we envision The Peer Support Network as a program that:

  • Fosters a global, compassionate community rooted in shared experience
  • Supports survivor leadership and advocacy efforts
  • Unites survivors and allies across sports and levels of competition to drive change and end abuse in sport

By amplifying survivor voices and shedding light on the realities of abuse in sports, we drive critical conversations that inspire change.

Fund The Athlete Survivor Peer Support Network

The Athlete Survivor Peer Support Network is ready to take shape, but we need your help to bring it to life. Your contribution directly funds the development of a trauma-informed, peer-led initiative designed by and for athlete survivors. Together, we can create a lasting structure of healing, leadership, and change in sport.

Community

Our goal for The Athlete Peer Support Network is to create a community where athlete survivors can offer each other mutual support and understanding as they access healing.

  • Athlete survivors will have access to participate in a live-taught, trauma-informed curriculum to become trained facilitators of peer support groups.
  • These peer networks will be survivor-led spaces where participants can share experiences, offer mutual support, share resources, and foster healing.

Leadership and Advocacy

The Athlete Survivor Speakers Collective, as a voluntary extension of ASLSN, will ensure athlete survivors have access to trauma-informed support and training to amplify their lived experiences for public education, policy advocacy, and culture change.

The vision for this program is that it will address the growing demand for athlete survivors to share their stories in public forums in a  trauma-informed manner. Once funded, it will provide the tools, training, and support needed to advocate safely and effectively, without retraumatization or exploitation, with the goal of driving meaningful change in sport.

  • Trauma-Informed Training: Athlete survivors will receive comprehensive, live-facilitated training on public speaking, storytelling, boundary-setting, and self-care practices.
  • Survivor-Centered Storytelling: The curriculum will help participants connect their personal narratives to the broader systems and structures that enable abuse in sports, allowing them to become powerful advocates for change.
  • Voluntary Participation: There is no expectation that athlete survivors involved in the ASLSN must publicly share their story to receive support or be involved. Participation is flexible and fluid based on the needs of survivors.
  • Personalized Support: Athlete survivors will have the option of engaging in the speakers’ collective, the peer network, or both, based entirely on their comfort, readiness, and personal goals.
