Creating Your Safety Plan

Creating a personal safety plan helps you take control of your emotional and physical well-being in sports environments. It’s a proactive way to set boundaries, identify your support network, and prepare for situations that might feel unsafe or triggering.

  • Identify trusted adults or teammates you can go to if you feel unsafe.
  • Set boundaries about physical contact and communication inside and outside of practice.
  • Recognize your own warning signs of dysregulation (e.g., anxiety, shutdown, anger).
