Who We Are

Our mission

Our Mission

We believe sports should be safe for all athletes.

Our mission is to bring awareness, accountability, and transparency to sexual violence against athletes at all levels.

  • Awareness of sexual violence at all levels of sport
  • Accountability for perpetrators and the institutions that enable them
  • Transparency so that athletes do not fear retaliation when reporting abuse, and institutions do not cover it up

By amplifying survivor voices and shedding light on the realities of abuse in sports, we are driving critical conversations that inspire change.

Who does The Athlete Survivors’ Assist help?

The Assist was founded by and for athlete survivors. Their stories, strength, and voices are at the heart of everything we do.
We also work with parents/guardians, coaches, service providers, and sports institutions by offering education, trauma-informed training, and prevention tools to create safer sport environments. Our advocacy helps inform state and federal legislation, as well as organizational changes that protect athletes and hold systems accountable.

We center survivor voices and offer community, resources, and trauma-informed support to help athletes reclaim their power and become leaders for change. Find Support. Get Involved.

Our Impact

Together, We Are Changing Sport.

We are driving lasting change in sport by advocating for changes in organizations and systems that make athletic environments safer. We provide educational resources for survivors, allies, parents/guardians, and we offer programs that support coaches and administrators in prioritizing the well-being of athletes and a trauma-informed response to abuse in sport.
